The life of a man, known to many in Wichita Falls as the “Picture Man,” was celebrated Saturday morning at the Church of Living God on Walnut Street.

“He impacted a lot of lives, but I didn’t know he impacted that many lives,” Tommy Wallace’s niece Ella Wallace said.

Family and friends came together to remember the man who touched so many in the community.

“I want to be just like him because if he had that kind of impact, that’s the kind of impact I want to have,” Tommy’s granddaughter, Cherie Wallace said.

The small church was packed full of people Saturday morning as songs and prayer lifted the spirit of those in attendance.

“It felt really good to see the people (whose lives) he touched,” his granddaughter Latrice Mollice said.

Tommy Wallace owned several businesses including a grocery store, gas station, clubs and a “yum yum” wagon. He was also well known for coming into night clubs and taking pictures of people and selling roses.

“His legacy was love. He loved everybody and everything. But his first love was God,” Ella Wallace said.

Tommy’s family said they are extremely grateful for all the gifts, donations and kind words from people in the community showing their condolences.

“Everything that we have received today and throughout the days we really appreciate it,” Cherie Wallace said.

Decorated crowns and light up necklaces were worn by members of the family, a staple you would see Tommy in during the nights he sold roses. While he will no longer walk through bar doors saying “Thank ya Jesus” his family said his legacy of spreading love will live on through them.

Tommy Wallace passed away following a house fire on July 28th.
