In Wichita Falls, a six-year-old is helping raise money for her family’s trips to the hospital.
Gabriella Montano is the big sister to a 15-month-old who suffers from seizures and has to travel to the Dallas-Fort Worth area regularly for medical treatment.
Craig Montano, Gabriella’s dad, said the money raised will help with food, gas, lodging and lost time from work.
Montano said Gabriella came up with this idea all by herself.
“She’s the one that wanted to help her family out, and this was the only way that she could think of doing so. So far she is doing great. It’s teaching her responsibility, money management and a little bit about how we go to work and provide for our family,” said Montano.
He said Gabriella is doing the same thing, but for her sister.
Gabriella spent her Sunday morning making gallons of lemonade for the community, in hopes of raising just a little more money for Wednesday’s trip to the hospital.
