The initial lineup of performers for the 2016 CMT Music Awards has been announced, and the roster includes two especially interesting collaborations. Blake Shelton will perform with Country Music Hall of Fame vocal group the Oak Ridge Boys, while Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris will share the stage together. Other performers include Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Thomas Rhett.
Shelton recruited the Oaks for the track “Doin’ It to a Country Song,” off his new album If I’m Honest, out this Friday. They’ll re-create their duet on the CMT Awards. Urban is slated to sing his current single “Wasted Time,” with help from Eldredge and Morris, his touring partners on his Ripcord World Tour.
Stapleton, Cam and Carrie Underwood lead all nominees with three nominations. Each competes in the Video of the Year race. The CMT Music Awards air live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 8th, at 8:00 p.m./ET. More performers will be announced at a later date.
