See Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Duet On ‘Go Ahead And Break My Heart’

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani don’t gush about their relationship in the press too much, as they try to keep some semblance of privacy. Instead, they wrote a song about it.

“I never ever meant to get so into you/Thought I was using you just to get me through/You know I’m broken I don’t trust anyone/Last thing I needed was to fall in love,” they sing in “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” which they penned together.

Shelton and Stefani debuted the duet on Monday’s live episode of The Voice — also serving as Stefani’s country music debut. The couple traded lines on the midtempo tune without ever losing eye contact, heating up the stage with palpable chemistry.

“Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is featured on Shelton’s upcoming If I’m Honest album, due May 20th. “There’s a feeling that I have about this album that’s not like anything I’ve ever experienced before with my music,” he tells Rolling Stone Country. “I don’t know if this album is full of Number One songs or is going to sell five million copies or win a bunch of awards. It’s just that I know that when people hear this record they’re going to understand every emotion I’ve gone through in the last year and that makes me feel really good.”
