Shot over two days in California, the video for Keith Urban’s “Wasted Time” finds the Ripcord singer providing the soundtrack to a group of 20-somethings as they remember one glorious summer together.

The clip unfolds like a series of rapid-fire flashbacks. There are bonfires, joyrides, coolers, swimming holes, stolen kisses and nearly a dozen photogenic coeds, all of whom spend the song’s final moments dancing to Urban’s ganjo solo. Everyone’s almost impossibly good-looking, which suits the song’s nostalgic theme. After all, doesn’t everything look better in hindsight?

John Urbano, who directed Urban’s videos for “Cop Car” and “Somewhere in My Car,” is back behind the camera, replacing the vehicles that filled his past clips with a new emphasis on the great wide open. All of “Wasted Time” is shot outside, in fact, with Urban and his touring musicians making cameos throughout the clip, playing the song beneath a group of trees like the world’s coolest campfire band.

Due out May 6th, Ripcord has already scored two Number One hits: “Break on Me” and “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16.”
