I was born in the middle of a Texas thunderstorm in a small town hospital, delivered by a country doctor in Nocona, Texas! Since then I've been causing thunder and lightning everywhere I go. I knew I was destined to be in the entertainment business at a very young age. My mom told me I used to dance, hold a microphone and sing along to all her Elvis Presley Records! My first words were "Ahhh . . .Thank You . . . Thank You Very Much" and "Hey Hot Mama . . . make me a peanut butter and banana sandwich!" (Just Kidding) I am a huge Mama's boy and proud of it. I love and miss my Mama very much! I got my first kiss in Dogpatch at the tender young age of 12! You might say I've been a houn' dog ever since. Although I've been married several times, I have kept the same children. Anyone who has listened to my radio show for any time at all, knows how much I love my girls. Paige (15) and Amy (11) do or say something every day that makes me fall in love with them all over again. Growing up, all my friends wanted to be cops, lawyers, or doctors. I wanted to be a Radio DJ! I guess it was just in my blood! At age 15, my record collection topped over 500 albums and I had my very own radio studio set up in my room, which consisted of two phonographs, headphones, and a Radio Shack microphone. I would "play radio" for hours. Music has always been my passion. I started playing drums when I was 9, and at one time was one of the youngest members of the Musician's Union! I've been playing in bars and honkytonks since I was11, and still play in a band today! Ironically, I was fired from my first radio gig because, and I quote, "Scotty, you just don't have what it takes to be a radio personality!" (I later signed the biggest contract of my career with that same guy!) I have been in Radio now for over 15 years. Some of the highlights of my career include bringing George Jones on stage at the Memorial Auditorium, hanging out on Willie's bus, (sure makes you hungry), being kissed on the cheek by Martina McBride, and killing a bottle of Jack Daniels with Tracy Lawrence in his hotel room. But most of all, I love my listeners. They are the best! I am truly blessed to have my dream job and to be able to get out of bed every day doing what I love! That's pretty much me in a nut shell!
AHHH . . . THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! ScottyP
